TCN Worldwide Expands into Hong Kong
TCN Worldwide’s footprint in Asia just got a lot bigger. The Dallas-based company, a consortium of independent commercial real estate services firms, has entered the Hong Kong market by bringing OfficeAsia into the fold as one of its member firms.
TCN is not new to Asia; it’s had a presence on the continent through member firm APS-TCN Commercial Management Ltd. However, market activity in Hong Kong is such that TCN felt the need to establish a firm presence on the ground in the city.
“The Hong Kong commercial market is very strong at this time and both the leasing and investment market are experiencing dramatic gains,” Ross Ford, president & CEO of TCN, told Commercial Property Executive.
Established by Mark Bernard, who has a history as an executive at the Hong Kong offices of powerhouse firms Newmark Grubb Knight Frank and Colliers International, OfficeAsia has a powerful presence in Hong Kong and a reach that extends to Greater China. Its diverse list of offerings includes tenant representation, transactional management, corporate strategic advice and acquisition and divestment.
“OfficeAsia provides TCN’s member firms and their clients with the opportunity to access this dramatic marketplace,” Ford said. “We look forward to providing a conduit for corporate users and investors to make their move into Hong Kong seamless and successful in the long term.”
TCN relied on member firm APS to assist in isolating OfficeAsia as the right vehicle for TCN’s entrée into Hong Kong, and the company will look to other members for input as it continues its global growth plan. “We are anticipating expansion into India in the first quarter of 2014 and will then turn our attention to other East Asian markets working with our Beijing and Hong Kong affiliates,” Ford added.
And the U.S. is still very much on TCN’s expansion radar as well. In July, the company added Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Levrose Commercial Real Estate to the team, and there’s more to come.
“We are currently working with firms in Pittsburgh, Houston, Harrisburg, Las Vegas and northwestern Indiana,” Ford concluded. “We believe those additions will also occur early in 2014.”
TCN ranks among the top 10 on the 2013 CPE-MHN Index to the Most Powerful Brokerage Firms.
